How To Cure A Hangover-Hangover Remedy

How To Cure A Hangover-Hangover Remedy

When I was younger I really liked to go out on the town. I loved going to dives and have a few inexpensive drinks and listen to some loud rock and roll bands. Every Friday and Saturday night I could usually find some live band playing. The town I live closest to, is a college town and there were dozens of great clubs, where you could have drinks and listen to great music from jazz to reggae.

Sunday morning was always a different story. Sunday morning is when all those inexpensive drinks started to cost a little more than I thought. Being a weekend warrior didn't help because I wasn't really used to the alcohol. My best advice is to not drink at all or drink very little or in careful moderation. Certainly you should not drive at all, after having too many drinks.

On the internet I have seen quite a few and various hangover cures. They usually involve aspirin or hair of the dog cures like a bloody mary. Others will include Gatorade or Powerade or any type of sports drinks. Other hangover remedies are sleeping or taking a shower, hopefully not at the same time.

The best hangover cure is preventative and it is simple. If you want to cure a hangover or make it a lot easier to deal with the next day, I have two words for you: club soda.

No matter what you drink, whether it is beer or vodka, this cure will work. I have found that if you drink the more expensive brands, you are much better off too. In regards to hangovers, my experience has been: the higher quality drink you have, the less hangover you will get. I have also found that having mixers like 7 up, instead of other colas, help quite a bit too.

What To Do For A Hangover

The first thing to realize is that if you are going to drink, more than likely you are going to get a hangover. I think there is an adage that goes "prevention is the best medicine" or something like that.

The key is to have fewer, but higher quality drinks or beers, if you do insist on drinking. After you have your last drink for the night, be prepared to order or get two club sodas. More than likely the bartender or waitress will just give them to you for free. Rarely have they ever charged me for club soda. But if they do, it's usually just a dollar. Make sure you drink at least two full tumblers of club soda. Sometimes you can even find a 12 ounce or 16 ounce plastic bottle for sale in convenience stores too.

I have found that by drinking club soda right after a night of a little drinking will ease a hangover tremendously. I have also found that if you wake up with a hangover it is pretty much too late to help it much. Mostly because your stomach is usually in too bad of a condition to hold down all the other cures, if you know what I mean.

Before you leave the club, drink two club sodas!
