Some of the best ways to get traffic to your blogs and sites is to use social bookmarking sites. I use addthis to bookmark blogs, photos and links. Addthis is often found on blogs and is usually an orange button with a white cross. I use a Firefox addon of addthis that allows me to quickly and easily bookmark sites and blogs.
I believe that some social bookmarking sites are better than others. I usually judge them by how well they search or how much traffic they generate and how easy they are to use with addthis. In no particular order I recommend these social bookmarking sites.
Delicious is a great social bookmarking site that is easy to use, especially with an addthis Firefox addon. Delicious also has a widget to embed that showcases your activity or bookmarks called a linkroll, that can be located at the bottom of a Delicious page under tools.
StumbleUpon is a great way to recommend your photos, blogs, links or content. It works well with addthis and it's easy to upload a link to the things you enjoy online. StumbleUpon has a community of people that you can follow or be followed by.
Digg is a great place to submit links to your blogs or content. Digg has a really active community that will often "digg" your content and get you some pretty good exposure to your content online.
There are some of social bookmarking places that I highly recommend as far as getting a higher profile in regards to search engines. They may not be as easy to use as some of the others, but they may be well worth it, in regards of visibility to search engines. Those are: Plaxo, Worio, (Adding Links To) Messenger, Netvibes, and Reddit.
Sites like Yahoo Boomarks and Yahoo Meme are also great to use. Most of what I like about all of these sites is they are easy to use and seem to do well when it comes to traffic.
