Most Searched Phrases
Knowing the most popular phrases, terms or keywords, as well all know, can be very important when writing or blogging. It is also an excellent way to find out what's going on "right now" in the world.
There are some great sites online for finding out what phrases, words or topics are very popular. These sites or tools, find out what is being searched extensively.
They are great for keeping up with world events, as they unfold. These sites are also very helpful in getting ideas and suggestions for subjects to write about as well.
One great site, that I personally like to keep an eye on is Google Trends. Google trends is the best place to see what is being searched the most and is a great way to get, up to date news. I have found out important world news before I ever saw it on television, from Google Trends. I also check out a site called Google Zeitgeist.It has lots of bars and graphs and bells and whistles for finding out, what is or was, being searched.
Another site that I watch quite a bit is Top Tweets on Twitter. Twitter is great for gossip and drama. All you have to do is have a twitter account and follow Top Tweets. I also like to monitor Twitter hashtags and Twitter hashtag lists.
Another couple of places I keep up with what's going on in the world is Yahoo trends and Alexa's What's Hot. Alexa's What's Hot site, has categories of "hot topics, hot products and hot pages". The Hot Pages on Alexa are my favorite for finding interesting opinions, not ordinarily or easily found anywhere else.
I have found out about some major world news, hours before it was ever broadcast on television, by watching these sites and sites like them. They can also be a great source for ideas on subjects to write about.
