Every year, around September 22-23, in the northern hemisphere, summer wanes and winter knocks on our door. But Old Man Winter, has to wait for a spell. It's Autumn or Fall and its truly a spellbound time of colors. Like a masterful painter, nature spares no color from its palette.
Fall or Autumn is harvest time. Trees, fruits and vegetables have reached the end of their cycle and having peaked, give anyone wishing to notice, their grand finale of exquisite color. Dazzling arrays of yellows, golds, oranges and possibly every pastel that is known to man.
With the passing of summer into fall, comes the wistful, forlorn feelings, inexplicable but customary. Perhaps, even in the face of such magnificent colors, the triumphant tints and hues, is the expectation of a cold and colorless winter that is inescapable and the sadness that imbues.
Very soon it will be winter. Lifeless, cold and indifferent. But fall puts on such a glorious show for us to enjoy. We should all relish each color, each tree, each leaf. We should all take an extra walk or make time to take a drive just to enjoy what nature has provided, as it waves goodbye until spring. Take time to enjoy what fall is graciously offering, the gifts that dazzle the visual senses.
