Is There A Difference Between Democrats And Republicans?
Democrat Or Republican
Recently I read an article, or really it was more like a website, that compared the policies and actions of the current democratic President of The United States and the previous republican President of The United States.
Without going into much detail, I found the argument or conclusion, that was made, to be compelling. The argument or conclusion seem to be, that although they came from completely different parties, they seem to wind up doing basically the same things. Nothing really changed.
I have a feeling that each ardent member of each respective party is going to fervently deny that they resemble each other in any way. Philosophically, each party seems to be diametrically opposed in many ways, at the core or base level. However, once elected, to these top levels, the spending habits of the different elected officials at the Presidential level, oftentimes seem to be the exact same.
Without taking sides, I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this too. To me, this choice, each Presidential election year of 'either or" seems to get the same results, when it comes to what they actually spend the money on.
Philosophically speaking, there seems to be a pretty big difference between Democrats and Republicans. Yet, when they get elected President, they seem to spend the money exactly the same, in my opinion.
Lately, it seems the en vogue thing to do is for a political party to take a candidate who seems to have the philosophy and even voting record of one party, but run them as another party.
Perhaps, I am wrong? Perhaps it's just coincidence? Is it because a candidate has to appeal to the largest majority to appease the most to actually get elected? Am I missing something here?
